Man's Best Frie...Food?

This morning, i decided to take a walk on my way to public market. I can see people very busy preparing for the Christmas eve. One particular scene caught my attention and sent chills over my whole body. A skinned dog, on a pole, maybe a "lechong aso". I felt so bad. It reminded me of a bastard riverside family who tried to capture my dog Balto for their dinner somewhere in 1997. I lost two dogs in the past, i fear they ended up similar to this one. Some people really has a culture of eating dogs. Not me, i love them. Whenever i see well cared dogs, they infiltrate my heart, not my stomach. :(

Fallen

Click for a larger view
Today i witnessed how, like a very short burning candle, she struggles for her life. She could do nothing but express her pain through humming. The people around her are crying and her own family gathered in circle around her. I immediately stepped out, it is mild showering and saw some dried leaves being blown away by the chilling breeze. This one fell near me. A leaf has fallen with droplets of rain in it. God Bless Mam Gigi. My mentor. Like this leaf, you have our droplets of tears on you.

Seeking Good Things

"We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”

Today while i was cleaning our chapel, i saw this tiny plant sprouting from the space between the bricks...

Kalbaryo ng Bagyo

The plywood has been distorted and almost detached in its wooden frame. This house is lucky to be almost in one piece unlike its neighborhood who got swept by the flood.
