Reaching the Heavens

This is my third day in this photo-a-day endeavor. Taken at 4:19 in the afternoon. Seems like a dying tree using its branches going upwards to pray and appeal for mercy. As i reflect on this photo, I can relate with so many hardships that has befallen to many of us. When hit by a trial, or a life-changing tragedy, all seems lost and our faith seems to fail. When confronted by an overwhelming problem, we exhaust all means to appeal to the heavens.
The tree is not actually dead but is a shrub cleared by the gardener to allow new leaves to spring fort and take a new appearance. In a few more days, it will be again teeming with fresh new leaves to beautify the Chapel grounds. Just like our ordeals, God has allowed such things to happen, to mold us and later give us a new beginning if we just BELIEVE.

The "Indian Mangoes"

After having a heavy breakfast, the nearby mango trees caught my attention. They are brimming with green fruits inviting for a bite. Well, they invited my G.E. A1250 Digicam to shoot!
When i was a child, i used to climb mango trees & delight in their sour and crispy mango fruits. I heard someone before that all Mangoes originated from India so does it mean that all of our Mangoes are "Indian Mangoes"? They are so many varieties of Mangoes in the Philippines. This one is smaller than regular mango and mostly eaten raw with salted fish or bagoong, and you can feel its crunchiness and the unique taste. It’s really mouth watering and inviting.

Empty Room

Today, after attending the sacrament service in Aritao Chapel, I noticed an empty room at the upper floor. The peaceful light from the window illuminates the room. It is empty, silent and peaceful. The room is used for Sunday School purposes and I am lucky to capture it in its vacant state for in a few more minutes it will be filled with young single adults to feast in the word of God. Indeed the windows of heaven continues to shine with blessings for us. Our bodies are tabernacles, we need windows to let the life giving air enter and the light of life to shine in every room of our lives.
